Spiritual Paralysis | How Are We Hearing ? | Video

True faith, saving faith is moment by moment obedience, but planning your own life brings spiritual paralysis .. how are we hearing?

Faith Is Obedience

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

Faith justifies and saves us and comes by hearing, but how are we hearing?  How we’re hearing and receiving the Word of God is the root cause of the trials conflicts and problems that we go through.

Conflict Of The Will

Luke 22:42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.

James 4:7-10 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

The first work or act of true faith is to draw near to God, talk, agree and submit to Him. Purification is confession, settling with God brings about obedience, a yielding to His will. Jesus settled it at Gethsemane, He sweated it out, He stayed there until He had got the victory in His heart.  Going to the cross was a matter of fulfilling what He had already settled in His heart.  It is exactly the same spiritually speaking for us.

James 2:21-22 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

Here is complete harmony of faith and works and will. Do you think Abraham in his flesh was happy? Not at all.  All he could see, all he knew, was to act on the will of God.  Take note the power of God present to work that.  To water that down, to disregard that or turn away from that principle of faith brings spiritual paralysis

Self Will Is Spiritual Paralysis

Once we’ve heard the Word it is our responsibility to act and take that in prayer before Almighty God.  If you hear the Word and find yourself going off and doing what you want to do then you have to question whether you are really born again

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,”

Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.

Just as physical  paralysis gradually incapacitates the body, spiritual paralysis stunts prayer and appetite for God’s Word.  Many Christians are not really living the Christian life and religion doesn’t save anyone.  It is only the Christian faith – a belief in ‘Jesus Christ The Word Of God’ that saves us.

Unless our minds and our hearts are illumined by the Holy Spirit we don’t hear.  Hearing the anointed Word should always lead us to act.  The very same power that raised Christ from the dead is the very same power that works in your life the moment you will to act upon the Word of God.  When you act you start living,  refusing to act leaves one in spiritual paralysis.

Rivers Of Living Water

John 7:38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

Faith flows from the heart and is activated by a surrendered will

The ultimate work of the Holy Spirit is to take over our lives and that’s why we make much of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  You need the Holy Spirit in your life to empower you to be able to walk a holy upright and righteous life, you cannot do this in yourself.

Sadly the baptism of the Holy Spirit today  has become solely an empowerment to operate in the gifts and to speak in tongues, but it’s more that that – to restore us back under His headship and the revelation of the blood of the Lamb, to  restore us back to hearing again the anointed Word, to restore us back so that you can function as a believer in the  Body of Christ where each of us has a ministry.  We are being restored to a life of consecration faith and obedience doing the will of God.

The Grace Of The Present Moment

… the moment of fidelity, of commitment and of the encounter with God. .. He is the eternal present that, at every moment, intervenes in history to create man and give him His grace.

The great means to meet God will be to reach Him in His present and actual action.  It is at that moment that the will of God for us is expressed.  And this divine will often takes flesh in the trivial and minute details of our lives.

Wherever the will of God is, God is present there.  It is in this sense that fidelity to the present moment places us in the continual presence of the Lord. .. our entire life is a continuation of these present moments.  God is awaiting you in the present moment.

If you agree to lodge in it like the plug in the socket, light and strength will pass through to you… The present moment is the point of insertion of God into your life, and through you into [this dying] world.  But God does not come through without your free consent.
