.. Outwardly we don’t know where we are going. Most of you have been out today or some of you will be going out later on.. But you don’t know exactly where you are going, you don’t know who you are going to meet, you don’t know what your journey may entail. There are so many things that we actually don’t know. That is how God wants us to walk with Him. We become very depressed and disillusioned when we try to plan our life – our future with God, and you never can. Don’t even attempt or try it..
God has saved us by His grace and mercy that we walk by faith and not by sight. That is the principle that is going to run in my life and your life every day - every second - while we walk with The Lord in this world..
Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
.. He [Abraham] hears the voice of God. God says ‘ pack your bags, take your family and I’m going to show you a land. I’m going to show you a place – a true home, a true dwelling place. ‘
.. And on just that he forsook all and took with him all his family – all his goods – all his livestock. He began to sojourn and walk with God. He doesn’t raise any questions. He doesn’t say to The Lord ‘ well Lord I’d like a bit more as to what this entails. I’d like to know what we’re going to encompass and what route you’re going to take me. ‘ He didn’t have any satnav to set for his journey. Not at all, he heard the voice of God and that was enough.. .. ..
.. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
Matthew 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
James 4:13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
