Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
On The Edge
.. He says ‘ don’t take any thought – be consumed with Me. Think on Me, fellowship with Me, talk with Me. Keep in that attitude of prayer, keep in those tongues.. It will come in – it will be there. Don’t even try and work it out. ‘ They are the mountains that will be cast into the sea – cast away as far as The East is to The West – just like He’s done with your sin – same principle – because faith triumphs. That is the nature of it, and when you walk by faith you’re always walking on the edge of a precipice. You’re always about to fall over, you’re always about to topple off! That’s our walk, that’s the nature of it..
Swimming Upstream
.. And so when you come through you’ve got a testimony – ‘ It was God that brought me through because I was standing on the brink of disaster. ‘ That is what faith is – that’s what it looks like – else it’s not faith. Everything in the flesh – in the natural – is against us. I saw a video clip the other day, it was in a swimming pool and they were creating a pressure of water for swimmers to swim against – upstream as it were. The swimmers were swimming away but not moving – trying to defeat the rapids..
Enduring To The End
Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
.. I thought that’s exactly at times how we are. We are against the flow – against ‘the rapids.’ We’re just keeping our heads above water – yet swimming away swimming away. And how much more with Christ in us ‘The Hope of Glory.’ Yes Salmon also swim upstream to reach their spawning grounds don’t they. That’s how I walk, my life is on the brink of a disaster every day. It shouldn’t work yet here we are after all these years – some of us over 40 years. Praise God, why because faith will triumph – that’s why!
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
1 Corinthians 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 11:18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
2 Corinthians 5:5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
