Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Father And Son
.. last week of course the children were on holiday. And there was a dad there in the water with his little son his son was probably about two and a half years old. He’d got him in the water there – it’s about three and a half feet deep – and he’s teaching his son to swim. He’s put little arm bands on his arms to help to keep him buoyant. He’s with this little boy and the boy is moving his hand his arms and he’s trying to swim. The father’s right there holding him and just slightly letting go of him and then holding him again..
Moving With God
.. And God began to speak. ‘ Look what that father is doing with his son, he’s teaching him to swim. That little boy has no fear, he’s not doubting for one moment that his father will let go of him or whatever. Not only that – the little boy was wanting to please his father – that was what was on his face. And this is what God is doing with us. He’s showing us that this is what pleases Him. ‘ The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. ‘ .. When you love God you want to please Him. And how do we please Him – by believing – putting Him first above everything else. And then you begin to swim, then you begin to move as God wants you to move..
Have No Fear
.. By faith – because this fear is being dealt with, that’s why. And as I say – this child was wanting to please his father who was teaching him to swim. This is what God is doing with us, He’s teaching us to walk by faith, and He doesn’t get it wrong. These are the standards that God sets for us in which to please Him. And what are the standards – He says ‘ believe in me, have faith in me, do not doubt. ‘ .. that is what pleases our Father’s heart. And maybe some of you need to approach like a child to God – that that is what you want in your life – in relationship with Him.. .. ..
Hebrews 12:25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: 26 whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. 27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
