Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men;
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs,
and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken,
smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
Going Through The Open Door
.. Are you willing to submit to His pruning? Those who accept the humiliation of The Cross will go through to The Deeper Life. That is what we preach, we’ve accepted the humiliation, we’ve accepted the delays in faith. We’ve accepted the chastening that is needed at times because that is what enables us to go through into The Deeper Life which we preach – that Open Door which is Jesus. You can go as far and as deep as you like in The Spirit. We’ve accepted it because we’ve accepted The Cross. We put no terms on The Cross – we’ve accepted it’s humiliation as well. If we’ve done that then He alone will choose the life that He wishes to live through us for His glory..
Sweet Surrender
..If you are crucified there is no resisting – it is all about yielding. It’s surrendering to His will, it’s surrendering to His ways – knowing by faith that this is not wrong for me. You may lose everything just like Job did but God is teaching you that He has made no mistake. That is the way that we walk, it is the humiliation of The Cross. So for a season it looks humiliating the same as it did for His Son but did He leave Him in that state? No He didn’t, He raised Him up for His glory, and He will raise you up and me up in that right time for His glory..
Dying To Live
.. You see you are dead and He is going to live His life through you because that’s what happens when you are dead. What can you do with a dead person? Can you kick or insult them or try all sorts of things? They won’t retaliate because they are dead and that is what The Cross does – it stops us from retaliating. ‘The Cross’ causes us to keep our mouths shut and so on and on. He is showing us that that is where our strength lies.. .. ..
1 Corinthians 1:27 but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
