John 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? ..
Take The Limits Off
.. We have to take the limit of our Lord. Whatever your situation, whatever your plight, whatever your going through. All things are possible! If you are still passive in your faith – your belief – then ask Him to have this active faith and He will start to work it. Yes you’ll be tried and tested, but God will do it, that’s the whole point..
Points Of Contact
.. And this is why God uses points of contact. The point of contact for the healing of these people – the paralysed the lame the blind – was the waters. It’s not the waters [per se] it’s the movement (of the waters). It moves their faith so if they have faith in God – faith to believe – they were healed. That’s the story of what this is about, it’s showing an active move of faith. It’s not just simply saying ‘ The Lord can heal him or her, no, sometimes you have to move in faith as The Spirit leads..
Manifesting Faith
.. God has put us into this assembly for the purpose.. and he won’t give us any rest ’till all these areas in our life that glorify Him are active and not passive. The outward has to eventually be seen, that is why Jesus said ‘ by their fruit you will know them. ‘ This crippled man was in an impossible situation like He puts us in. Our steps of faith are impossible in the natural. Say ‘ Lord, this is you, this is your hand at work, I know you’re going to do something because it’s impossible in the natural. ‘ ..
Reflecting Jesus
.. The Lord has to see a reflection of Himself in us. And what is that reflection? Our believing in His Word. Then He moves heaven and earth. ‘ It is me that is in control. It is me that is anxious and worrying. It is me that He’s seeing and not Himself – His Word. ‘ This is why we keep telling you that faith is a rest. When you are resting by faith that is a clear sign The Lord sees Himself – His reflection.. .. ..
.. 7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
John 21:24 This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
