Luke 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
.. That is what he [the Devil] does. He is out to steal anything The Holy Spirit is giving, that is why The Word must go into the heart because he can’t touch it when it’s in the heart – The Parable Of The Sower (Matthew 13) ..
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Where Do Our Affections Lie?
.. You see the heart is always an indicator where our affections lie. How do we know – because we hear it come out of our mouth – our confession. This can only change when we ask God to perform that heart surgery in our hearts. It will only ever change when you hear that confession – that wrong confession – and start to go before God to change this. It’s not a quick ‘ forgive me Lord and amen ‘. It’s not like that, what comes out of our mouth is telling us where our heart is. There are times I hear it come out of my mouth and it grieves me, and I thank The Lord that I am able to do something about that. He’s brought that to my attention. I praise and thank Him for that because sometimes I don’t hear it – and He has to open our eyes and ears and heart to hear what we’re saying..
A Changed Heart
.. So it’s very important that the heart is changed because He [Jesus] said ‘ where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. ‘ I’m reminded of the story of Jacob and Esau. Jacob was after his [Esau’s] birthright when Esau – wasn’t interested in it. He was a man of the world and was more interested in his stomach than his inheritance [Genesis 25]. It indicated where his treasure was, and God said ‘ Jacob I love, Esau I hate. ‘ Quite strong words aren’t they. Israel we know where her heart was. They wanted to go back to Egypt and God gave them up. You see it’s where our treasure is.. .. ..
Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
