.. Many of us are never sure when we hear a thing whether it’s actually accurate or true but we can be when we come to the Word of God. God has so preserved His Word – every jot and tittle – that you can believe.. rely.. entrust your life and destiny upon it. That is the wonderful freedom that we have as Christians..
The Word And Prayer
.. This is how we get our faith – a faith that not only hears but acts upon that which we hear. To act your faith means you have to keep coming back and hearing this Word. You won’t just get it by listening to a message now and again – it has to be regular. Our reading of the scriptures has to be regular, we have to have a prayer life that is regular. The Word of God – to believe the Word of God – must also have prayer. Many Christians think that their knowledge and understanding of the Word gives them faith but it doesn’t unless it is backed by prayer..
It is written, My house is the house of prayer.. (Luke 19:46)
From The Head To The Heart
.. This is why at times Jesus prayed through the night, He’s praying for the Word to drop that eighteen inches from the head to the heart. You can’t leave anything out that God reveals to us in this walk. There are those who will only study the Word, they will study the doctrines but have very little prayer life. They commit to the Word but not to prayer. With others all they do is just pray but have little understanding of the Word of God..
As The Holy Spirit Leads
Somewhere in the middle there has to come a balance and only the Holy Spirit who comes to us leading guiding and teaching creates and works that balance. This is why I love the Deeper Life in The Spirit – because it’s about balance. The Word with prayer – believing, hearing, coming, listening – all of which helps us to be able to act our faith.
