I’m calling this teaching today ‘Are You Sorrowful Or Committed?’.. Have you ever heard God say something to you that is very difficult for you? Very challenging? If you have never head anything difficult in Jesus’ calling for discipleship I question whether you have really heard Him say anything at all.. ..

Luke 18:18,22,23 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?… Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
Selling All
“..Well brothers and sisters God’s Word will produce that fruit in our lives. If we want that fruit – we want that change then we’re going to keep coming. We’re going to keep coming under the Word of God. We’re going to keep coming for that fellowship – that sharing, praying one for another. It’s a great privilege to pray for one another so that God can do those wonderful changes within our lives and within our hearts. That is why in your own flesh it is impossible to walk this walk. That young rich ruler thought he could do it himself in his flesh. In other words he could be in control having also his wealth. And the Lord said no it doesn’t work.
Sell all, give your own life up as well. That is the only way it will work. Father we thank you that the Holy Spirit who wrote the Word of God is the same Holy Spirit who speaks to us. Challenges us, shows us the error of our ways. And it’s because you love us. Lord you have shown that you don’t run after us – you don’t pamper us when we’re sorrowful down or depressed – when we want our own way.
Have Your Way
Father forgive us where we still have areas that are independent of you. Lord we want to experience the fulness of God – the power of your Spirit sustaining keeping holding our lives 24/7. That is why you said it’s not by might nor by power – it is by the Spirit of The Lord.
We thank you Father that you have been with us – you have spoken to us. You have reminded us of our calling – our discipleship. That there’s no turning back – nothing to turn back to anyway…”
