Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
The Spirit Will Witness The Walk
.. This witness is absolutely vital for us to continue in our walk as a Christian. There are many who profess Christ but they don’t really know of this witness of The Spirit, and it will often come out in the trials..
” if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together “
.. the Spirit will witness so we understand what our trials are..
Acts 14:22 ..Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
The Spirit Will Witness The Trial
.. And so it is part of this witness and because it is a witness it doesn’t take us by surprise. It (the trial) doesn’t throw us off our walk with God – as hard as the trial may be..
1 Peter 1:6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
.. Our faith is like a muscle and muscles have to be used. The finest way for our faith to mature and develop is through the trials of our faith.
.. We have that confirmation by The Holy Spirit that God is in this. Our trials come in all shapes and designs and however strange they are designed for our faith to endure the walk set before me..
The Spirit Will Witness The Word
.. God isn’t going to allow His Spirit in you to witness against His Word or will.. That’s why He intercedes for us that our faith will not fail, that we will remain faithful and keep our eyes on the Lord. The physical trials often take our eyes off God and God is teaching us that whatever our trial we have to keep our eyes on Jesus – on His Word – twenty-four seven.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
