Overcoming Faith
.. Your faith yesterday is not adequate or suitable for today – What we meet, what we encounter, what we hear and see today. Yesterday is history, yesterday has gone. We have a faith that is given to us by Almighty God to make it into The Kingdom of Heaven – a faith that we build upon today with what we hear and what we learn. We really do need to understand this one, that whatever our circumstances, whatever news we’ve heard I have the faith today to make it through and to overcome..
Our Daily Walk Of Faith
.. We can confidently say this because Jesus has gone before to prepare the way. Everything in The Word of God points to the fact that we can walk this day by faith. Faith is a gift else we wouldn’t be able to believe or have this meeting and you wouldn’t be here listening to this Word. So we have the faith for today and walk according to that. If we can appropriate that simple principle each day and confess it before we get out of bed – we then know that we walk ‘ this day ‘ by faith no matter what it looks like, whether or not I feel I have any faith..
Knowing The Problem
.. Sometimes our trials are such that we come to a place where we think ‘ do I have any faith – am I really believing? ‘ Well The Word of God says yes because we have faith for today – else we can’t walk this walk. God wants us to know this with regard to what is going on in the world and the negative things we so often hear. It’s not edifying and some of us just don’t want to listen to the news thinking ‘ what is there to listen to ? .. ..
2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
