Exodus 14:19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:..
Cutting Off The Past
.. The pillar of cloud had been before them but now it’s going behind – for what purpose? – For a miracle so that they could pass through the red sea, and so that God (through Moses) could destroy Pharaoh and his army. That had to happen in order for God to get Moses attention onto his rod of authority..
.. Exodus 4:2 And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
.. Exodus 14:16 But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
Looking Unto Jesus
.. The principle is the same with us (vis a vis our ministries). In order for us to be able to stand upon The Word of God He has to do a work in us and sometimes He goes behind the scenes because something needs to be done (re hindrances from our past – Satan on our tail).. Once we settle and believe in faith then the God of Israel – the God of today will fight for you..
Ecclesiastes 3:15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
Deliverance From The Past
.. Because He is the God of the past (the rear) not just the front (present and future) He requires an accounting or an understanding of the past from us. Sure He’s gone before and prepared the way but part of that preparation is dealing with our past where He delivers us from fears and phobias – things brought over in our salvation that God won’t have in His sight. Sins of yesterday will always hinder our walk unless they are dealt with. We often miss the mark as a sign that our God of the rear is yet working on us to bring that deliverance from the past..
God Has Your Back
